“O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name! But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you?  Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!”  1 Chronicles 29:13-14 NLT

Amazing Stories

Our lives are touched every day by an amazing God, an amazing father who cares about every situation we face.  In 1983 AuDera was pregnant with our first daughter when she went into premature labor.  They put her in the hospital to stop contractions.  This was before husbands could stay in the room with their wives.  As I left that night we both were scared.  She had never been in a hospital and we didn’t know how it would affect our baby.  When I returned the next morning, she told me an angel had stood next to her bed the entire night.  It scared her more than the premature labor she was having.  From that time forward she has had regular visits by angels.

God is always amazing, but most of my personal experiences of seeing his wonder have come when I have been afraid or in danger.  There was the time when two men came to rob me, but they stopped looked at something above me and turned and ran away.  I will never forget the time through a series of circumstances I found myself in Africa for 30 days without money and was miraculously provided for each and every day.  Our God is amazing!

What story can you tell of his amazing faithfulness in your life?  Don’t ever forget the things God has done and the things he is doing every day.  Take time to tell him and remind him that you have not forgotten.  It will inspire and refresh you and it will open doors for God to do more.

An Amazing Reign

1 Chronicles 29:13-14 were spoken by David at the end of his reign not the beginning.  He had just turned the kingdom over to his son Solomon and then he wanted to honor God with his praise and thanksgiving.  It was his final act as king.  Notice David is not filled with regrets and what could have beens.  He doesn’t complain and point fingers, nor does he make a final request.  He recognizes that he never had anything to give to God because it all came from him.  It was just an amazing journey of trust and dependency on God.  He only prays that the people continue to love God and his son is faithful to all the commands and decrees.

Choosing to Live A Life of Amazing

Life goes by fast.  Every day God is doing amazing things in our lives.  We get to see some of them and others we may not realize.  I want to have eyes that see and appreciate the great things God does, and a heart that loves faithfully.  A desire to live my life to the fullest without regret and the passion to never quit right to the end.  God, you are amazing!
